Why it matters: Life does not always go according to plan. Even if there are delays, setbacks, or unexpected turns, perseverance and faith in your journey can still lead to success.

"In 1975, I was 20 years old. I had just completed my B.Com and moved to Kolkata with the intention of pursuing Chartered Accountancy. However, after reaching there, I realized that I could not really understand much about the course, and I decided to return.

After coming back, I took admission at Rajasthan University in Udaipur with the aim of becoming a lecturer. I was staying at Vivekanand Hostel during that time. It was also the period of the Emergency. Our entire family was deeply influenced by and actively associated with the RSS.

When the RSS decided to launch a Satyagraha during the Emergency, I also volunteered to participate. Because of this decision, my family members were not very happy. My elder brother, who was working in Jaipur, was particularly concerned about the direction my life was taking.

After the Janata Party government came to power and the Emergency period ended, I returned to my regular life. At that point, I decided that I should once again pursue Chartered Accountancy. So I went back to Kolkata and spent the next five years working towards becoming a CA.

Along the way, I also devoted time to social work and activities that I believed would contribute positively to society. The journey was not easy, and it certainly did not happen according to my original plans. There were delays, detours, and moments of uncertainty.

I often wanted to become a lecturer, and at different stages of life, I imagined different futures for myself. But life had its own plans. Many people feel discouraged when they think they are three or four years behind their peers. In my own batch, many people started their careers earlier than I did, while I entered the profession several years later.

Yet, I learned an important lesson: it is never too late. Everyone has a different destiny and a different timeline. What matters is that you continue to believe in yourself, keep working sincerely, and stay committed to your goals.

Life may not always take you where you first intended to go, but if you keep moving forward with faith and determination, you can still reach a meaningful and successful destination.

Thank you."
